Who we are when we drink

In vino veritas

It means “in wine lies the truth” and suggests the idea that we are a more true, honest, and revealing version of ourselves when intoxicated.

It makes one wonder if friends who are self-described “monsters” when they drink are underneath not very great people.

Or why those who are really loving and appreciative when they drink have a hard time showing affection when they’re sober.

Regardless of the answer, the saying calls on us to pay close attention.
